Bienvenido Edgar,
Welcome to the forum. Try looking in the various sections and you will find postings dealing with specific aspects of the Mechmate build. You will need to do a lot of reading, but rest assured that there are lots of people here willing to help out when you get started. :)

Edgar,

One of the first things you might want to do is to down load the drawings and print them out. Start looking them over. You will be looking at them a lot if you actually build a MM.

You have to decided what size table you want to build.

If you ask questions and show that you are really going to build a machine there will be people here that will be happy to help you along the way.

Good luck with your build.

Edger,

the best way to start (I am a starter myself) is investigate the plans and make sure you start getting a mental picture of the overall design and function. Mentally you don't need to know it in detail, but you do need to have a good understanding.

Make sure you download the plans pdf+dxf files and decide on a size of your machine. That would be a really good start!!!

I am already ordering my stepper motors + drivers since they have long delivery time here in Ecuador..

Currenly I have printed out all dxf files + bend profiles and make comments for the laser cutter here in town, trying to make VERY clear the thickness of ech material and that the yellow lines need to be cut and the magenta line needs to be engraved.

Also I am making a document of foto's from the website of each part so in the workshop I will have a good reference of what goes where and what position :)

properly next week we will start ordering metal, but well... that's next week... First I need to prepare all documents + USB dongle for laser cutting my parts :)

Bottom line is, Just start!
