Unfortunately, someone else claims to have copyright on hotbot. I need the logo for the front page of www.mechmate.com, as well as for a decal on our second machine. Our clients often ask us "What is it?". |

I like the third from the bottom, it's easier to read than some of the others and it looks "fast"... If you could drop the legs of the M's down alittle below the base line keeping the others where they are I think it would look even better. Just my 2 cents |

Thanks for that Evan, your 2 cents are worth 13 cents here today. The longer legs appeal to me, but I can't find a way of doing it cleanly. Other folk have also picked no.3 from the bottom. Anyone with graphics skills who could make a .gif that I can use on the front page and the top corner of this forum? |

Looks good Bob, but 6 months too late The logo on the drawings (precisely) and on the website (crudely) has been cast in stone for a few years to come. What I'm needing now is better quality logos for the forum (130x70 pixel at the top left corner) and the web pages (180 x 32 pixel), conforming to the logo on the drawings. |

Gerald, Check these out... I took the logo from the drawing, made a master set of outlines and fills each in white, black and blue in Photoshop. The master is about 1,300 pixels wide. I then resized it to 180 x 32 and saved it in different versions with different layers turned on ond off to make the color combinations. These are the two that seem to be of immediate use for the website. I'll make something for the forum size and upload them next. If you like these I can give you the Photoshop file or if you want me to make the other versions you may need, just give me the sizes and color combos you need and I'll send them to you. Note that these both have a white dithered edge on the transparency so they will look smooth only over a white background. I can save these with any background dither color you want to make them look good over any background color. |

Hi Patrick, looking at the source code of the home page, it appears that the background colour is <TD bgcolor="#000066">. (Please check that). Thanks |

Yeah, it looks like the trick there will be that the logo is hanging over from the background of the left nav bar which is light blue onto the white background of the middle of the page. What I can do is make a version that is not transparent but that has the same background image as the page so that it should be seamless. |

Here is a version for the Forum, I didn't know what font to use for "Forum" so I tried something basic for now.

Ok, here is a version for the home page that incorporates the left nav bar and shadow. There is something strange with the logo file that's on there, it looks like the image is larger than it's being specified in the source which is squeezing it and making it rougher. The first version is the size that HTML is looking for but it may be shifted to the left. You could kick it to the right using some HTML trickery or you could use the second version which is wider. If you use that one you would have to change the HTML to "width=190" instead of "width=180" and then I think it would work.

Patrick, thanks for all the work! Are you familiar with DreamWeaver templates? If so, I can send you the template tonight so that you can incorporate the logo into it (it's on my home PC). |

Patrick, this is what I see on the home page: Are you seeing a logo half over the nav bar? |

Gerald, no problem, I'm happy to be able to give something back considering all the work you're doing for the community! I see what's happening with the home page now, I opened the home page with Internet Explorer and saw what you posted above. I normally use Firefox, which is rendering the page like this... There must be something peculiar in the DreamWeaver template, probably a .CSS hack for IE which Firefox doesn't like. If you send me the DreamWeaver template I may be able to get it to work in both browsers. In the meantime, here is another logo with the proper background color (#3366FF) so that it will be nice and smooth over the light blue background...
